Four ÆÞÓÑ students were among this year’s winners of the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, selected based on the potential impact of their research, academic excellence and leadership abilities.

In partnership with the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia, ÆÞÓÑ and the University of King’s College will host the Universities Studying Slavery (USS) conference in the fall of 2023 in Halifax, Nova Scotia — the first USS conference to be held outside the United States. ÆÞÓÑ and King’s will also host a one-day virtual pre-conference this October on reparations and education.

Barb Hamilton-Hinch, an associate professor in the Faculty of Health, has been fighting for equity and inclusion for decades. Now, as Dal's assistant vice-provost equity and inclusion, she is set to extend her leadership of this critical work.
