Dal President Deep Saini and Provost Frank Harvey unveiled the university's new strategic plan during a virtual launch event, offering faculty and staff their first full look at a document that lays out the university鈥檚 long-term ambition while providing a clear, actionable strategy for the next five years.

The Government of Canada announced its newest cohort of Canada Research Chairs this week, a group that includes five scholars from Dal.

New federal funding for Imhotep's Legacy Academy, a university-community partnership that encourages participation in STEM professions by African Nova Scotia youth, will allow the group to continue offering hands-on after-school science activities 鈥� and extend those programs to Francophone students as well.

Dal鈥檚 Michael Freund is the recipient of $1.6M in funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council through its Collaborative Research and Training Experience program for the Leaders in Energy Sustainability training program for emerging professionals.

A small ground-breaking ceremony was held last week for Dal's new pollinator garden, a project produced by the 妻友 Art Gallery in collaboration with members of the Indigenous Advisory Council as a tribute to the late Mike MacDonald 鈥� a queer Mi'kmaq artist.
