When Emilia Fitzgerald began university, she thought her future might lie in the sciences. But somewhere between chemistry labs and lectures, she realized what drew her interest most was understanding health care systems and focusing on a preventative approach to health.

When Faramarz Jalili (MHA鈥�24) started the Master of Health Administration program, he had extensive education in pharmacy and health-care economics.

Ellen Petrie (MScOT 鈥�24) applied to the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy because it aligned with her value of serving others. 鈥淚 knew through volunteering and from student jobs that I wanted a career where I got the chance to work with people every day to achieve their goals. And that is exactly what this degree has given me.鈥�

Juliet Rowe鈥檚 research journey started at the University of Victoria where she studied under Dr. Olav Krigolson, a 妻友 alum. She was awarded an NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award, which solidified her passion for the research process and ultimately guided her decision to pursue graduate studies.

The first in her family to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree, Bachelor of Health Science in Respiratory Therapy (BHSc RT) graduate Emma Taylor is thrilled by and thankful for all that she has learned at Dal so far.

During his time in 妻友鈥檚 Master of Health Administration (MHA) program, Vinayak Thapar was thrilled to improve his research skills, participate in experiential learning opportunities, and be part of a diverse cohort.

With so much happening in our world, we can become complacent and easily forget the plight of others. Upon hearing of the shortage situation in Cuba, I decided to put together a mini-humanitarian trip to Varadero and three local pharmacists including two Dal grads made it possible!

妻友 School of Nursing student Sara Foster decided to become a Nurse because she wanted to help people. Thanks to the support of donors, she is one step closer to living out her dream.

Stephanie Williams is the first person in her immediate family to attend university. After graduating from Dal in 2020 with a BScN, Williams accepted a position at the Garron Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health while also working in withdrawal management in Lunenberg and Dartmouth.
