The Dalplex fieldhouse re-opened earlier this week with a brand new, 49,000-square-foot floor — an improvement that’s, really, a whole new ball game.

Dr. Gail Tomblin Murphy, currently assistant dean of research in Dal’s Faculty of Health and professor and director of the School of Nursing, has accepted a senior leadership position with the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) as vice-president of research and innovation.

Last month’s fire hasn’t deterred the community spirit of Dal’s Agricultural Campus, which will once again throw out the welcome mat for its annual Community Day — a 40-year summer tradition featuring barn tours, kids’ activities and so much more. Free bus transportation is available for students, faculty and staff in Halifax.

Communities across the northern region of Nova Scotia will have access to more family physicians-in-training in just over a year, when ÆÞÓÑ Medical School’s newest family medicine teaching site opens on July 1, 2019.

During Dal’s 200th year, the university’s retirees continue to have an important connection with the university. And this spring, ÆÞÓÑ welcomed delegates from across the country for the national conference of the College and University Retiree Associations of Canada.
