An accomplished lawyer and devoted community advocate, Candace Thomas is set to become chair of ÆÞÓÑ’s Board of Governors on July 1.

Edward Snowden’s leaking of U.S. surveillance activites made him a hero to some, a traitor to others, and a global fugitive. Now, as part of an Open Dialogue event during Dal Alumni Days, Snowden will speak to members of the ÆÞÓÑ community via livestream from Moscow, Russia about our rights and responsibilities as citizens when it comes to privacy.

Dal Provost Teri Balser delivered a keynote lecture at the 2019 ÆÞÓÑ Conference on University Teaching and Learning this week, discussing how instructors can encourage active learning in students by setting a precedent themselves through "active teaching."

Last week, the Fountain School brought together several prominent supporters of ÆÞÓÑ’s Performing Arts Campaign to set the stage for groundbreaking on the $38.5M expansion to the ÆÞÓÑ Arts Centre – a project set to further transform performing arts education in Atlantic Canada.

Dal's newest class of graduates will be joined by two special individuals receiving honorary degrees this May: Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, former Governal General of Canada, and Sandra L. Irving, community leader and philanthropist.
