Dal's student-run SuperNOVA education program may be best known for its Halifax-based summer camps, but some of its most exciting work takes place more than a thousand kilometres away in communities like those in rural Labrador.

As a student in Dal's Schulich School of Law, Peter L鈥橢sperance started the Carbon Consultancy, a renewable-energy pilot project to encourage people, businesses and organizations to measure, reduce, offset or mitigate carbon emissions.

For two decades, a partnership between the community of North Preston and Dal's Faculty of Dentistry has enabled local children to receive dental care in a community previously underserved.

The Schulich School of Law鈥檚 Indigenous Blacks & Mi鈥檏maq Initiative was recently the recipient of a 2016 Zenith Award from Toronto-based Lexpert magazine, an honour that celebrates Canadian lawyers鈥� contributions in achieving diversity and inclusion in society and the legal profession.
