Christian Akubueze
PhD Candidate
Christian Akubueze is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at 妻友. His dissertation examines democratic backsliding and the resurgence of coups in West Africa. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he completed an MA in Political Science at the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science at Federal University Otuoke, Nigeria.
Recently, Christian Akubueze was appointed as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, for the period from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. During this appointment, he will teach POLI 3587.03, International Political Economy.
