The Dal AC International Student Association (ISA) held a fundraising event January 31^st in celebration of Chinese New Year. Over 170 people attended the festivities, which included a Chinese dinner and entertainment from students and the community. The ISA would like to acknowledge the hardworking individuals who helped make the event a success: Debbie Mellish, Dr. Gefu Wang-Pruski, the Dal-AC Student Association and those at the Village of Bible Hill Fire Hall who volunteered their hall for the event.

Over $1,130 was raised, with all proceeds going to the Zhuhui Ye Memorial Award fund. This award was established by the ISA to honour the memory of their friend and classmate Zhuhui Ye, who lost his life in a drowning accident in September 2012. The intent of the memorial award is to further the understanding of culture and relationship between Chinese and Canadian students by supporting the FAFU/DAC 2+2 program. This fund support a $500 annual bursary, which will first be awarded in Fall 2014.
